TII S4 BAC Air Supply Source?

I've done an emission delete, kept the BAC and the thermowax.

Question: Where does the other end of the BAC air supply hose connect? It's currently on the large nipple at the back of the UIM. Anyone know if this is correct?

I'm sorting out the rest of the idle issues.

Currently idling steady at about 450-500 rpm. My intent is to adjust the idle up to 750 with the BAC. Is this the correct way, or should I get the idle closer with the idle adjust screw first?

Thanks,

Jack

Thanks

Jack

in my custom TID

After the AFM and before the Turbo inlet. I used a weld in nipple. Some 3/8 HP EFI fuel line. If you have the stock TID there should be a nipple (I never had the stock TID)

I believe the BAC is supposed to compensate for load, not maintain idle.
Get the idle where you want it by other means, then let the BAC keep it there.

I have the stock TID, but like most of them you find these days, it has a nasty split, so I'm not using it.

It also doesn't have a spot for the BAC air supply. It has a spot for the Air Bypass Valve to dump (factory recirculating blow off valve) and for the purge valve from the emission rack.

The BAC needs filtered air that from after the AFM. I got that. And at idle, it needs to be higher pressure (less vacuum) than the intake manifold. In other words, the other side of the throttle plates all the way back to the AFM would fit the bill.

I could pull it from one of the capped nippples on the inter-cooler.

Thoughts?

thx

Yep, that's what I've done. Got it to 750. I still have to do a little more tuning on the cold start idle up system-I needed it at 74*F to start with, however i kept driving the car all day.

Tomorrow.

the BAC gets its air from the pipe that has the BOV in it, although it should do just fine with anything after the AFM

It needs to get air from somewhere between the throttle body and the AFM. Otherwise, it won't do much.

Aha! I figured it out, thanks for the help.

My BAC *is* currently connected to the Air Bypass Valve, just like it is from the factory.

I was mistakenly concerned about the 3/8" nipple on the UIM just to the driverside from the BAC. Should that just be capped?

Thanks

Jack
