I'll save some of you guys some time by saying the following...
"y0 m3ng! n/A 3NG1n35 sUx0Rz!! 5aV3 $$$ AnD p0oOT dA 7uRb0 3nG1n3 iN!"
or
"EEEEEEWWA*@*(#@!#$@ WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO A PERFECT TURBOII?? LOL!! KAKAHAHA WTF! ROFLMAO!!#@%# 420!! 69!! 187!!"
I'm broke and I have the following:
- perfect TurboII with good engine (my baby)
- perfect TurboII with NO engine (an adopted bastard)
- Beat up base model with no engine (willing to donate its body parts to save another)
- Complete N/A engine w/wiring harness & ecu (brain transplant waiting to happen)
The engine-less TII is in good shape and I can't find a J-Spec 13BT engine anywhere around here UNLESS I buy a complete front clip ($$$). Since I have a perfect N/A engine laying around and a TII with no engine, what exactly is needed to put this engine into the TII body?
So far I have this crappy list of parts I think are needed:
- Engine w/wiring harness
- ECU
- Pressure sensor & A/F Idle screw thing (from base FC)
- Gauge cluster (from beat up base FC)
- Gauge cluster harness (from base FC. *See below for info)
- Stock exhaust (from base FC)
- N/A Airflow Meter
- ( INSERT MORE THINGS NEEDED HERE )
Will I need a TII clutch/pp/flywheel to bolt the engine up to the TII tranny? I have a bad TII engine with this stuff still intact that I could use if needed. Anything else I should worry about?
*I'm switching interiors from my base to the TII because the TII has a red
interior. Swapping over the gauge cluster harness wont be a problem.
So yea, buying a J-spec engine is out of the question now because my brother wants an FC and would like to give him the non-turbo TII
PEACE!

depending on the amount of time you have, i would see about selling that bad t2 engine, and parts off of the base model n/a (and maybe the n/a engine) to make the thousand or so you would need to buy a jspec online
Then you would have a turbo II for your bro as well
but as far as all of the parts go, since you have the n/a, so long as they are the same series you should be able to swap parts back and forth between them preety easily
just my opinion though

I thought about selling some stuff to get a J-spec but decided not to. My brother is a teen but hes not a retard when it comes to cars. I figure a non-turbo car is perfect for him since it will be his first RX-7 and he wants to start out N/A then move up later on.
All of my cars are series4 so I guess that makes things a bit easier. Does anyone know if I missed anything on my list?
Thanks!

damn d00d! when did you get all these FCs?
you will def need the clutch/flywheel/counterweight/starter for the TII drivetrain.
If you want, we can swap drivetrains
I'll put the TII drivetrain and you can have my sport N/A drivetrain

I thought you were dead! Havent seen you online in a while
The N/A drivetrain is still in the N/A parts car. I don't feel like swapping the drivetrain out
Get on AIM and sweet talk me!
Anyone else?

Forgot bout the throttle cable
I'm going to be using the TII tranny & drivetrain. Can't I leave the tranny mounts, tranny & clutch slave alone?
Pretty much all I'm changing is the engine.

yeah, if you are using the T2 driveline, then you don't have to worry about the clucth slave and tranny mounts.
Basicly you'll have a heavy GXL w/o AAS when you are done.

Seriously though... why not sell that NA engine, and use the money to pay for shipping for a jspec t2? I know you don't want to be talked out of it, but think about it. You're reducing not only the horsepower, but the resale value as well.
Good luck whatever you choose.
