TII mods??

I've done some searching but havent really got the answers i was looking for. What are the best reliabilty mods for an '87 TII. It has 40k on a rebuild. It has a funky exhaust but other than that it is stock. I just wanna know how much im gonna need to put into it to make it pretty reliable. Also, what is the best boost guage for the money? What is the best water temp guage for the money? What is the best a/f guage for the money? Links and prices would really help. Thanks in advance.

There aren't a whole lot of 'reliability mods' for FCs. The Oil Pellet thang is all that comes to mind off the top of my head. As a preventative thing you could get an FCD and port the wastegate...other than that, if your **** works right to begin with (ie radiator), you're good to go.

Remove the Pulsation Dampener (PD), which is basically the factory fuel pressure regulator. The system is prone to failure.

Its not really a 'reliability' mod, but it might just stop your car from burning to the ground!

If you want reliability, that all depends on what level of power you are trying to obtain. But first off if haven't been done then you might want to check out your underbody components....tie-rod ends, ball joints, and the necessary rubbers. Good to keep your car firmly planted to the pavement. But for performance mods, first i suggest taking care of fuel before anything else....rewire and upgrade fuel pump, fuel regulator, injectors. Then go from there.

how much power are you looking to have....
do you want performace or reliability...
me personally since my engine already has 188,000 on the odometer (im not sure if it has been rebuilt or not, but my friend who is an rx-7 buff swears its been rebuilt, due to the "new-ness" and cleanlyness of some of the internal parts)
im going for performance while at the same time saving money for a new engine.....13bRE.....yeah

yeah..... I know a guy who has a jspec just sitting around so thats not a problem. I want speed but i want it to be quite and pretty reliable, I'm a pizza delivery driver. The previous owner used it as a daily driver and was a mechanic so he took good care of it. I just don't want to go and do something that will make it die on me all of a sudden. I'm just wondering what some of the best things are to buy in the beginning stages of making a speed monster. Thanks

i want to get a full racing beat exhaust, but if i do that then i will probally have to get about the 3-4 other things dealing with fuel management just to compliment the exhaust.....the upside though.....IS ONE FAST *** CAR!

the full racing beat will be too loud. Here in Cali. we cant have it too loud or we get watched at our homes. The police come by late at night just to check if ur home!! ITS INSANE!!! sorry, had to get that out.

I hear that they are pretty bad about that stuff in Cali. I read SCC every month, and that's all I hear about in the first few pages every few months. Almost makes me feel bad to tell you that we just got rid of VET testing here in Louisville, and the standard of living is lower, so you might consider a move

I believe that the racing beat setup is one of the quietest on the market. If you want loud go with the Apex'i GT that is what I got and it is really loud especially with no cats.

yeah, see i want the rb full exhaust, but i hate those ricers who get an exhaust for the sound aspect, and thats not what im shooting for at all.....i just want it because it adds so much horsepower......
i really dont want too much attention, cause 9 times out of 10 me and my friends are doing something illegal.....
i just cant wait till im driving drunk or something and someone once to race....noone has raced me yet or even tried to when im sober....so my luck is going to run out someday!
go figure

im not a dumbass when it comes to driving....i dont take chances....usually...
and i dont drive drunk, not wasted or anything....i just mean, i'll have like 2-3 beers in an hour, then leave (perfectly fine with me) then ill get in a race and get pulled over and test positive on the Blow-rama-meter....
that would just be my luck....

NOONE WILL RACE ME WHILE IM SOBER SO FAR!!!
its so frustrating....
i finally got my car back like last month(after 2-3 months of downtime) and i have a point to prove to all the ricers..

but no ricers in site all of a sudden!!!

ERRRR
