Any 0-5V 2bar sensor should work fine but the plug will probably not be a direct swap. A few short legths or wire and some crimp connectors will fix that easily, even better would be finding the matching plug and splicing it on.

Have you checked the For Sale section for an FC one?

i had actually tried referencing the stock sensor at one time to try and use it with my alcohol injection setup but the wiring diagram is not very specific for the sensor. that or one of the other circuits that interacts with it modifies the signal as well. none of the S4TII map sensors that i used i could get a reading out of(thought maybe it was a faulty sensor) while just running ground, 5 volt in and a signal wire out. the FD MAP sensor is a simple 3 wire sensor like the GM 2 and 3 BAR MAP sensors with a simple ground, 5 volt in and signal wire out so i wound up just using that instead.

I ended up buying a sensor from a forum member (I was trying to save time by not having to wait for shipping) but just for the sake of learning, could you use an FD 3 wire sensor on an FC with just the 5V reference wire in, a ground, and the output voltage back to the ECU/Boost guage?

i don't think so, the stock sensor incorporates the BARO sensor iirc as well and i believe that is what is causing the feedback issues i was running into using the sensor as a 'standalone' sensor for alternative uses.

it probably could be done but it may have adverse affects at varying climates.

it's possible i could be wrong but i just couldn't figure out the necessity of the 4th circuit or how it affected the signal.

The stock sensors (they differ by year and model) are not exactly 2 bar or 1 bar even though the wiring is the same and they use the same 0-5vdc reference. This is why the s4 turbo uses a different sensor than the s5 turbo...because the cars were setup to run different amounts of boost, and the sensors were only calibrated to read about 4psi higher than stock boost levels. So an s5 t2 sensor is calibrated differently than an s4 t2.

Same for the FD sensor...it reads just a little above 2 bar.
