TII engine life?

sorry i posted this in another forum but noone was looking at it so i started this new thread:

for a long time now i've been dreaming about getting an fd for my first car - although i pretty much have the money now i feel like i'm too young (i'm 19, almost 20) to own my dream car. so i'm thinking about getting a turbo II for me to learn RWD/drifting on and if i were to wreck that i'm not out too much money. this one TII i've been looking at is an 87 w/ 150,000 miles on it for $2,500...good deal? how long can i expect a TII engine to last?

well no mods - this is just a cheap thing to hold me over. so just a rough mileage estimate?

btw - the guy emailed me back and said that there isn't a 1st, 3rd, or 5th gear and theres some idle problems so this isn't the car for me

How many miles are on the engine?

$2500 is about right for that many miles, but you should tear down the engine and replace seals now. Rebuild kits is around $800-$1200 I believe.

FD??? Here's why I wanted an FC as my dream car.
