TII 88 v 94 Supra NA

i have a friend that is convinced he can beat my turbo 2. anyone know the stats of who would actually win 1/4 mile with equal drivers and both stock cars assuming similiar reaction times as well. I know the supra weighs a LOT compared to me, i think i got him. we will find out week from tomorrow. I will host some videos or pix or links to em of the races.

they run 15s flat. Now the TII is about the same so it'll be about the driver.

What the supra gives up in wieght, it makes up in torque. It'll beat your TII to the 60ft line unless you hole shot him, and i think it will be won by that advantage. All things being equal, that supra should beat your TII. Sorry, but its a newer car, with a bit more **** behind it.

I give it to the T2. The Supra will get you from the go but only because of torque and then the T2's high end torque will just take over. The weight also wont help the supra out alot. But I will give my thoughts to the T2 b/c it produces around what a stock supra puts out I believe ? Oh well GL

With those mods you should literally WALK away from him. A fuel pump and a rewire is a good idea at this point as well...I wouldn't race him with the new exhaust until a you put a walbro pump and rewire it back there. You don't wanna blow it up

A 3 inch exhaust without cats on a turbo II will free up a LOT of boost and the wastegate (which regulates boost pressure) will not be able to keep up. Therefore, the car will overboost pretty badly and your stock fuel system cannot deliver enough fuel to feed all that extra boost. If you race this guy on that setup your motor will probably blow up. I would recommend using a catalytic convertor in this system you are having made (it will keep the overboosting down) And, an upgraded fuel pump is a great idea too. Walbro pumps are cheap and plentiful (about $75).

you need a fuel pump reguardless. Go on ebay and get a walbro 255. Also I have a 3 inch DP/MP from thunder fab for $189. Good thing is that if bolts up to your cat back and when you have to do emissions you can just bolt your old setup back on. But you will need a FCD and fuel pump for sure

dude... you said STOCK cars... a TII with some work will whup *** on an N/A supra,.... duh!.

Now that you've changed the rules, you'd better make sure that the guy in the supra doesn't have headers, exhaust and intake mods, or you may still get your *** handed to you.

the Walbro 255 will work just fine, but you may run a bit rich with it.

One more thing... If you still have the stock clutch in and it has any sort of wear on it... you will find your doors lying on the side of the track if you try to slip it hard at launch. I found out the hard way that the stock clutch can't handle a hard slip launch to keep boost up... Practice launching that sucker after you get the mods done before you go to the track!!

Wrong, his TII with the 3 inch exhaust, a high flow cat and the walbro pump should suck up an NA supra even with headers, intake, exhaust etc... NA supras don't really respond too well to bolt ons. Come to think of it, most NA cars don't cept for those damn vtecs hehe There is an easy solution to both of you beating on your clutches...rolling starts from about 15 mph.

back when i had my 87 TII (nearly stock, just a downpipe) i raced a modded NA supra and he barely got me from a dig and i barely got him from a roll.. if you have a 3" exhaust you will destroy.

with those mods you won't walk him, you'll run like hell.

I ran a stock mkiv non turbo supra and after 2nd gear, there was no race. In first we were about even till ~5k, then I started to pull. 2nd I walked, 3rd was no contest.

my mods at the time were JUST a 3" dp and 2.5" catback.

make sur eyou getthe high pressure walbro...there are two dif models and the low pressure will not work the same
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
buy from these guys..they rule,,,u will have it in a few days

what 3" exhaust r u getting?....good luck with the clutch(stock and more hp dont liek each other for long) and do yourself a favor-don't let your ego get in the way-loosing is better than 15psi and 8000rpm just to win a race..there is always a rematch!..launch at about 4000rpm and dont drop the clutch..feather it (let it out slow) so you dont have too much wheel spin) run bout 1/4 tank of gas or less(highest octane you can get) and have someone have a gas can with them to refuel you as needed..check tire pressure...remove stuff you dont need from the inside of the car(sub, amps etc)..get some practice runs in...the more the better....check your oil and other fluids...you cant win what you cant finish

You should own him. I have a 90' na 300zx, and that thing is practically a na supra, and my 300zx isn't faster than a tII. Weight really makes a big difference.

FYI.. 20PSI in the rear tires = WAY more grip at launch than at 35.
