TID Help ASAP!!!!

just cuz i wanna get my car running soon, there is a small hose that goes from the TID to somewhere under the airpump. My question is for my new TID do i need to make a hole in it to accomidate this hose, or can i just cap it off??? My airpump is disconnected if that matters. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as soon as ya can. Thanks alot.

When you remove the airpump there will be three hoses. One comes from the stock air box, you can throw that out, there is another that goes to the airpump cap this off or you will have an exhuast leak, the bottom one you can just cut.

my guess is you have to reconnect it. but I don't know what it is for. All I know is the 89-91 have 2 lines and the 2nd is for the boost controller.

The hose from the back/bottom of it goes to the Air Control Valve (ACV). Without the air pump, you do not need it anymore, so get a blocking plate, remove the ACV, and toss that pipe. For the time being, you should cap it, so dirty air is not sucked into the engine when the anti-afterburn valve in the ACV opens up.

If the other hose you are referring to has a silver gizmo with an arrow on it, this is part of the PCV system. I would recommend attaching it to the new TID, otherwise excess blowby from the engine has no place to go. If you do not attach it, leave it open, but MAKE SURE you leave the silver gizmo in it, otherwise you will have a huge vacuum leak. Note, blowby will now be released to the open air in the engine compartment. Could be smelly.

Silver gizzmo like thing be like a check valve. That line be going to the other side of the car to the crankcase vent and tee's also to the charcoal canister vent. Leave the silver gizzmo on the line and secure to some solid object out of the way. Go to http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/Technical_I...nical_info.htm and look in the factory service manual, which by the way is totally free for a download, and look at section 4B, page 4B-88, and there is a good graphic.
