Talking TID with Airpump in Place :Update:

I am starting this thread for people who have emissions, stock BOV, and air pump and thinking about doing the TID mod.

Things needed (TID MOD) :
A muffler shop
3inch pipe(provided by muffler shop)
1/4" steel piece to be welded onto TID for emissions(from Lowes)
1/2" steel male-male tubing to be welded onto TID for BOV(from Lowes)
3/4" heater hose for BOV(from Lowes)
3/8" hose for emissions(from Lowes)
4 clamps for all hoses
(1) 2" or 2 1/2" (both work) to 3" connector(ricer part of Autozone)
(1) 3" to 3" connector(ricer part of Autozone)

Now something that is optional is a 3in PVC 45 degree bend. I would suggest buying one, taking up measurements (remember the steel TID will be thinner and you will have a little more play room) , and make markings for where you need to create your weldings for the stock BOV and emissions. After you get the idea of what you need, take it to your muffler shop of choice and give them the PVC as the model and tell them what you want changed. Like I said the PVC is alot thicker and bulkier(not to mention uglier) than the steel TID, so you will have a little play room of maybe a centimeter...which will come in handy because of the airpump belt. After you are finished with the PCV and your muffler shop has created your TID, just take it back.

First off, this has not been a simple task. If you have a few resources, no emissions, and after market BOV, this is easy cheesy.

Well I started off trying the PCV TID...Dont do it! However, it did help by creating a prototype for me like I stated above.

I then went to Lowes for a 1/2 male-male steel pipe(to wield onto TID) for the stock BOV. For the 1/2 pipe, I had to get a 3/4 hose for it to fit around the pipe because of the threads, and also that is the size that fits on the stock BOV.

Then I had to get a 1/4 adapter steel piece and a 3/8 hose. Now it will create a little dillema since the emissions is 1/4" and a 1/4" hose fits snug. I think however it will be fine with a good clamp and will prolly put some rtv to seal it just in case. (NOTE) the 1/4" adapter came with threads that was making it a little hard to fit into the hose. I am having the shop shave down those threads.

I created a prototype using a 45 degree bend PVC like I stated earlier. This allowed me to see where i needed to put get my pipes welded onto my TID and how much more length would be needed for my TID.

I went to a local muffler shop who did a nice job of a 3in replica bend of my PVC and added about an inch or two at a straighter angle to the end that will be leading to the afm and KN intake cone.

I went by to drop of the the pipes that needed to be welded on and the TID looked fantastic! Wednesday I will be able to get pics of the pipe, weldings, and set up so those with emissions and stock bov will be able to see what needs to be done.

I will post my CAI box set up with pix after I get it finished. I will post sometime early next week.

Oddly enough, when I saw this thread, I imagined "Wow, someone is using an air pump to pump extra air into their TID?" Heh. Now that I think about it, it could be kinda cool.

Although, I am still a wonderer of people using an airpump, and blowing pure butane into the top of the intake. Nitrous injection, but..Butane.

LoL, nah, got these emissions...if it was my car I would not care. I got a homeboy that can get me through, but this is my sisters car and I want her to get the best gass mileage and keep it all legal, plust save her 70bux on the emissions test

EDIT:
I changed the title to take away from the confusion.
