S5 NA ACV intake manifold vac lines pictures?

I hate cross posting (other fc forums... ) but with all the proxy errors I tried there first..... and the fact that none of the other sites have had any replies... here I am...

Im almost done with the 89 GTU but I think I may have one or two of the vac lines mixed up on the ACV side/ intake manifold area on the passanger side.

I read OVER AND OVER the FSM but the one or two decent vac diagrams have a poor angle of that side of the vacuum setup. So if anyone has some pictures or a better diagram I can take a peek at. I just want to make sure I have things hooked up right.

I passed CA smog so I must be in the general area... but Im not 100% on things on that side... I have one line capped off becuase I cant see anything unhooked... I would rather find the proper way... I think the ACV is not working correctly and there is most of the time zero air getting into the cat from the split air pipe... so i think maybe I have a hose mixed up for tha ACV....

So if anyone has any good pictures or diagrams again of a stock vacuum setup. I need ALL emissions equipment and vdi/5th and 6th actuators in tact. I like stock setups....

Thanks!
-Brian.

Heh, since no one responded to this request back then, I'll second it.
After failing emissions and starting to check over my engine, I think something looks wrong around the ACV, but I have nothing to compare it to and the FSM pictures aren't helping.

Series four and five acv should be similar. With the engine running, both of the two vac lines above the acv should have vacuum on the vac llines.

One is for the Relief Solenoid. Pull the electrical plug off the Relief Solenoid (Blue in color) and see which of the two lines looses the vacuum. THAT line then is for the Relief valve in the acv.

The other vac line is from the Switching Solenoid (elec plug is grey in color).

So to determine where each of the two lines go, do this. Put them back on the metal nipples with the engine idling. Now pull the large hose off the bottom of the acv. Now pull the electrical plug off the Relief Solenoid. Air should blow out that large hose at the bottom of the acv when you pull that Blue connector off.

If it did not blow air, swap vac lines and try again. Now you should have determined which vac line goes where. There's only two.

Most air from the acv goes NOT to the split air pipe but to the exaust ports on the engine side of the exaust manifold.

Warm the engine up prior to doing the above.
