Throttle Body question?

Ok, I read RTeds thread on the Throttle Body mod. He mentions plugging off the coolent flow into the TB, and plugging the hose comming from the bottom of the block. My questions:

1. Is the coolent flowing into the TB only for the TW Pellet?
2. To plug the line off the block, should I simply use a hose and c-clamp?

Thanks,
Chris

1)Yes. We can only guess why it goes by the BAC.

2) I used a short piece of 5/16" rod, tapered on the end, and hammered it into the nipple like a nail.

There is NO guessing about why the water pipe is attached to the BAC. It's explained in the recently download of the Mazda Training Manual. The Fuel and Emissions section explains why.

The coolant line is to warm up the thermowax and keep the throttle body and BAC from freezing in the winter.

No. If you intend to one day put it back to stock, most auto parts stores carry caps for this purpose. We have them here locally under the "HELP!" brand. If you don't ever intend to put it back to stock, drill or pull out the nipple, tap it for 1/4" NPT and install an appropriate plug. The problem with any rubber hoses or caps is that they like to fail at the worst possible time.

Ok, being I am in Cali, next to the bay, and my car is garaged, I should not have to worry about that. Would you agree?

I did not know the back was heated by that coolent line. Thank you!

You won't even miss It's absence on account of your location.

No, I don't plan on ever putting my 7 back to stock. Didn't we do this to my "notorious" rear Iron?

Seeing as how everybody is worried about this water pipe on the BAC.....it's used as a anti ice device and ALSO to keep the temperature of the bac coil at a more or less constant temperature. It's wirtten in the training manual I posted above. Fuel and emissions section. Page 4-53
