I have a TII that I use for daily . It's great! The good thing for me atleast my commute to/from work is largely highway, not a lot of stop and go traffic.

I enjoy it though, mucho nice leaving the tollbooths

Sure! Just get one that runs well and doesn't need any attention from the start. Don't be too aggressive when you mod it... it's your daily transportation remember! Gas mileage is bad though...
Sometimes it's good to have a beater to park in the city and stuff though.. hahah that's why I also have a 97 Subaru.

Put a Walboro fuel pump (or equivalent) if you're gonna run that setup. Stock pumps suck. The FCD lets you go over 8.6 psi. I've got almost the same setup you listed, and I'm gonna stay at about 10-12 psi till I get a bigger turbo and a FMIC

I have a Racing Beat one. It was $91.

Just make sure you have a good fuel pump if you run the FCD or you risk blowing the engine from running lean. A rotary won't take detonation like a 5.0L will

I feel the need to say "Careful!" here...

If you are thinking about running a TII with all those mods, you really should get a computer (piggyback is OK, or standalone if you want good future potential).

I ran my 87 TII with just an intake and catback and the Racing Beat FCD for about a year.... before it blew up.

I now run intake/full exhaust with an HKS PFC FCON and I've been about 50,000 miles like that with no real problems. I do agree that the fuel pump sucks and I really should buy a new one myself.

I think that if you have a daily driver and it's your only transportation, you need to be extra careful when adding power upgrades to it.

Just my $0.02.

Yeah but in a piston car you can hear it go ''ping ping'' and go "damn, my timings not right, I musta got some bad gas", etc. and let off the gas with usually no harm done. In a rotary you hear ''ping ping'' then you either limp the car home or walk home.
