Just a couple questions. First where did you get yours? After searching on here and one some other rx7 forums I found that they carry them at autozone in the "help" section Item 31052 according to some other forums. I do not have an autozone very close to me so I decided to order it from their website, but had problems. If I did the part number search it didnt come up with anything. Later I found out that autozone lists the part as a "Control Arm Bumper" so I went searching the site for that. Only problem is, you have to put in your year, make and model of your vehicle for anything to come up, so since I have no idea what car this is *really* for I can't get it.

I also tried searching on google but all the pinion snubbers I found were adjustable ones for mustangs or something. Anyone else found a place to order these online by chance? Non-adjustable ones? Searching on torquecentral.com in the v8 rx7 section I found that it has to be 3 1/8" size.

Next question. Those that are running it, what kind of improvement did you find from this? Did it help the "banging" of the diff? Did it help your wheel hop at all?


Now onto my wheel hop question. I went to the track last night and I have some crazy wheel hop when I dump the clutch. I'm also getting some shitty 2.3+ 60' times because of this wheel hop. I have Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 Tires 225/55ZR16 tires, eibach pro kit spings, KYB GR-2 Struts in front and some generic KYB Gas Shocks in the rear, and suspension techniques sway bars with polyurethane bushings... Why do I still have such bad wheel hop? Will the pinion snubber fix this? Or what should I do?

Try talking to "Ray" (guy with an LS1 in his black FC) in the V8 RX-7 forum. He was talking to me about this stuff at Rotary Revolution but it's not something I've looked into before so it went a bit over my head. Keep in mind he deals with ~330ftlbs to the wheels.

 

They are not made for your car.
Your cars uses the front diff mount for this purpose.

Plus over at torquecentral.com in the v8 rx7 forum it seems like those guys use it too, to help with the diff smacking into the bottom of the car. Granted they are running WAY more torque, but the concept is still the same, isn't it?

 

I installing one as we speak. My diff mount is toast, so while I'm replacing it, I decided to install a pinion snubber. I don't want to have to replace another one. I bought mine at a local autoparts store. I went to 5 different places before I found one. I think the part is made for a Chrysler. Check the Help! website.

Shucks & Napa had no idea WTF i was talking about when I went in asking for a bump stop, or pinion snubber.
So, I just spent a half an hour searching for this thing online.
Autozone's Keyword search dosn't find it, but the part # search does..

I actually still have my pinion snubber sitting here after taking it off a couple months ago.

 

I thought it was a useful bit of info, since i just went through the same crap Ddub went through two years ago.
seems like a cheap & functional mod to save your diff mount from breaking.
I'll be installing this along with a competition front diff mount from mazdatrix.
