As for the jhb coatings, I am waiting on my first shipment of rotorhousings done in cermet a and b ceramic. However, UPS seems to have lost the package. I'm actually waiting on it anxiously, I plan to build my single turbo/high compression/streetported engine for the FD from a set of them, in conjunction with rotaryaviation 3mm seals and solid cornerseals. The car is on stands waiting for those last 2 parts.

Ohhhh that should be fun. I've gone to their site and read up on their cermet services, seems like some good stuff.

Kevin: What kind of housings did you get? Did you send your own ported housings to be coated or . . . ? I'm very interested in how this turns out.

Yes, you have to send your own cores most of the time from what they say. I sent in worn out/chrome flaked ones, or ones with VERY light blown apex scratches on them. I had some in cermet B and some in cermet A. My initial shipment of 8 resurfaced housings was supposed to arrive jan. 19th, but UPS's dumbfuck operation lost the big *** package, they claim it fell off the face of the earth. They're not interested in finding it...just paying out an insurance claim. Better yet, due to potentially large customs taxes adn duties on such a valuable package, the decision was made not to insure it for full value...so this is a clusterfuck all around.

Currently jhb and ups are working out their claim issues, and jhb has promised to replace my housings regardless of the outcome with UPS. I am currently still waiting on 2 of these housings which I intend to build my FD's new engine with...but I've yet to see a single set in person, and this deal has been in the making since October.

I'm currently not sure how this will play out...I'm sure the quality will be great, but the other aspects of the operation such as shipping/customs, turnaround, etc. lack a bit of planning, and I'll want to see those issues resolved before I continue with more orders.
