although you may be upset with the damage done to your car (as we all are) also be thankful that it wasn't worse! But the guy giving a ticket thats ridiculous, what next a guy T- bones a tree dies and the officer still fines him???

Yo,

Because he's looking for support from the Second Gen community. If we base all posts on technical merit, my open track day posts, my touge posts, and whatever cool posts I've done will be moved out of here.

Cut him some slack.

Terrh, I checked the pics in the other thread...your car totally looks fixable. I was expecting much worse, but I think with a new fender and door skin, etc, you'll be alright.

Keep that second rarest FC going! I love 10th AE's!

RarestRX: Thanks. Yeah, and I love the GTUs's I'm going to be fixing it, it looks like all it needs is the ball joint to be drivable... but it's going to need some serious bodywork before it looks as good as it did before 5PM today... the passanger side door doesn't close now, and I fear some structural damage. I'll be tearing the fender off tomorrow morning and will know better then.

Yeah, there's that damn inner-wall there which is a pain in the *** to work with, if that's bent it's pretty damn hard to straigthen out, however it doesn't appear to be that way, I'm just guessing it got the door and the fender. Some people just have shitty luck, sadly I'm one of them too, and it appears you're heading the same route!

Still leaves the other half! But anyway, this threads now technical, we're interested in his methods used to fix and repair the car, as well as damage assesment and cause so we can make sure it doesn't happen to us.

cause is due to sudden catastrophic ball joint failure

and I'm VERY lucky that it didn't happen last night when the speeds involved were not exactly... legal

or I have a feeling that I wouldn't be the one posting this....

And yes, this section is for technical. It is not the 2nd gen lounge.

track days however would be technical as long as they don't fall into the "I smoked a Mustang/Honda/Yugo" catagory, and others can learn something from the track day write up.

This is a technical post... weight reduction I mean those ounces of paint he shed probably made his car atleast a half second faster in the 1/4

WOW...That sucks man...It pains me to see another 10th AE damaged.

HOWEVER, its not as bad as I thought it would be. Could be a lot worse. Id say its fixable!

Yo,

Seriously, then these posts:

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=146739

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=147036

Should be moved...where? What fun will the Second Gen section be if it's just dry technical information?

This concerns me.

I personally see nothing wrong with those threads, and that they are in the spirit of the forum.

Wrecked cars however??? Maybe if there was a broken part that could be identifed... but the jury is still out on that it sounds like to me.

But most wrecked car posts are just to make a poor driver, that was driving past his or her skill level and in over his head, get a little sympathy. Those kinds of threads have no place in this section (or frankly anywhere but a shrinks office couch).

But, Terrh, post to this thread to let us know what you find really happend when you start fixing the car.

looks at forum section listings

"RX-7 Forum > Generation Specific > 2nd Generation Specific (1986-92) > Terrh vs. Tree"

"1986-92 Discussion including performance modifications and technical support sections."

I see nothing about labeling this a tech only section. and I would call this 2nd gen specific. so you lose

omg THREAD HIJACKING! by a MOD!

Yeah, I'm fantastic Love those supportive seats. My dog (who was with me) was a little freaked out, but he's ok now. Your parts car wouldn't happen to be white, would it? Maybe we can work out a deal for some parts (I don't REALLY care about color as the car is getting painted this summer, but white would be nice so it doesn't look ghetto till it does get painted )

naw bud. it's black. The guy that was supposed to pick it up has ran into some difficulties, and although I feel bad for the guy, I'm kinda screwed because i have to get the car off the lot this weekend! Just waiting for my mechanic to call me back.
