Temperature Sending Unit Replacement

Anyone know how difficult it is to do this? Just wondering how much work is involved. Ive been doing nothing but maintenance to get her running for 3 months and am considering just having the dealership do this final thing if its too difficult. Please lemme know if youve done this fix. Thanks.

thanks.....no but seriously, are there a lot of things you have to remove to get to it? Like the oil filter, fuel lines etc etc etc. Anyone without a smartass remark that may actually be able to help me would be appreciated.

You can help us by telling us which exact sensor you're trying to descibe?&nbsp The Turbo II's have like 5 different temp sensors, and it can be as simple as dr0x described, or as complex as requiring alternator/intake manifold removal...

You finally got the Coolant temperture Sender Unit, rather than relying on how hot the Rad gets? (previous thread)

A 12mm wrench should do It but It's very tedious. I had to bend the **** out of my wrench to accomadate the tight angle. Otherwise, get a 12mm deep socket. Fini!

You are probably thinking of the Water Thermo Sensor found at the back of the Water Pump...

heh....well, i havnt been driving her at all, not until my dash gauge reads correctly. I'm talking about an 88 vert n/a. The temperature sending unit that is right next to and below the oil filter and fuel lines. Mine it toast and I need to replace it, but I think I may just take it to someone to get fixed, unless its pretty easy. So a 12mm deep socket should do it huh? I'll check it out.
