temp sensor broken - symptoms?
Hello all, quick question. My plastic connector for my temp sensor broke off.
I was wondering what that would cause?
Thanks.

It will cause the ECU to assume hot running conditions. Mine causes shitty cold idle and long cold start cranking (5 seconds rather than 1 second) but the car runs fine when the engine is warm. It's listed in the FSM under engine electrical I believe.

Well I have done a easy rebuild (water seals were the only thing wrong, that took an extra day) But I can only work on the car / engine after 5:00 so really it only takes me 10 hours to take out old engine and put in new, 15 if I have to rebuild something simple like water seals. :P im not braging it sucks that I have blown so many engines that I can do it that fast. ANYWAYs I want to keep this one as long as possible.
I forgot that its best to calibrate the tsp when its warm, and I did it while it was cold. (obvioulsy was way off) was making the pedal like super sensitive. Anyways its a lot smoother now, I just need to figure out why I have an exaust leak, and how to get my oil and temp gauges working.
Anybody know where I can get a new temp sensor plug / connector for cheap? or just solder it to the tip? (the temp sensor is to the right of where you put new oil into the engine correct? Just below a few things that are always hot :P and I get burned trying to just touch the bare cable to the end of the little thing that pokes out.
Anyways, I have to get a new little black box that broke off for my oil pressure gauge to work. I dont know what it does, but right now my oil always just says 100 (or what ever is highest).
Also sadly my cruise control doesnt work or my speedo, because the speedo cable connector came off the tranny and the cable inside the black cable came out. (im guessing there is a cable that goes inside the black cable, or else im screwed and there is no reason for my speedo to not be working)
anyways what a nice rant thanks. :P

You should've explained which sensor you were referring to clearer, since there are several. The ECU thermosensor (which I assumed you were talking about( is on the back of the water pump housing. The gauge's sender on on the rear plate under the oil filter. Check to see the wire's still on it.
