Unhappy Temp & Oil guages

Hello,
I recently replaced my motor and I guess the mechanic never hooked up the temp gauge. I suppose there is something unplugged but I don't know the location??? I need this plugged in before I unknowingly overheat my new motor! Can anyone direct me to the location? Also... I was under the car yesterday & noticed that the wire/tube that runs from my oil tank to the plug (oil gauge?) is all jacked up & assume that's why my oil gauge is not working either. Does anyone have an idea of how to go about fixing this. There is oil all up in the wiring and what do I have to do, drain the tank again or take something apart??? Thanks!!

water temp gauge is where the thermostat housing is. If you don't know where that is its the housing on the passanger side front of the engine going to the top radiator hose. As for the oil pressure gauge it is located under the oil filter. Its a mushroom looking sender and just one wire clicks on to the end

wrong. thats the thermoswitch. the sensor for the gauge is located by the oil temp gauge on the back of the engine.

Water temp and oil pressure are in the same area on the drivers side rear of the motor.

It's behind/below the oil filter on the driver side. I want to say water temp is yellow/red. It comes out of the block through a black cylinder near the oil pressure gauge sender.

A Haynes manual or printed copy of the FSM is very handy for these sort of inquiries.

Btw, where in tampa are you located?

Lol I am wrong. I don't know what I was thinking I installed a water temp gauge under the oil filter like 2 months ago.

The wire coming from the pan is the oil level sender. Just be sure to check your oil levels frequently and you won't have to bother with that thing anyway.

That oil sender is pretty important still because if something breaks and oil gushes out underneath the car to wear you cant see it you want to know
