Faulty ignition switch??

so my car has always had this problem, you have to keep clicking the ignition to start.. Like you have to keep turning the key on and off for it to start, otherwise you just hear a click til it fires up..

I was told due to fualty solder joints in teh ignition?? i did a google search and cant find any info. I can solder if i need to. If anyone has some info id appreciate it. thanks.

the clicking is from the starter?

It can be the ignition switch but you should also be wary of faulty connections and wires that leads to the starter.

sounds like my car back when my starter brushes were worn out. Had the starter rebuilt and cleaned up for $30 and **** spun so fast it fired right up every time. It would click like you described as well. I would try that out if you have the extra cash to spare.

My car does the same thing, and it hasn't gotten worse over 6 months so I just kinda forgot about it. I've had my starter and a reman. advance one and it still does it. I'm pretty sure its the ignition switch.

87 T66: how much for the replacements?
