I change the oil every 5,000 miles (using the factory recommended weight based on the season).

Check fluids every week or before long trips.

Mix 4 ounces of 2-stroke oil per fillup.

Watch gauges carefully and listen for strange noises while driving.

This has allowed me many years of Rotoring and will probably do the same for you.

I had 199,xxx original miles on the '86 when the coolant seals went. (It still makes 100+ psi compression front and rear.)

I will say that coolant changes are not a very brilliant idea, I tried that on my '86 and the coolant seals gave out about 2,000 miles later.

I change that black stuff in my engine every so often, but sometimes I forget and it goes for a while, usually try to switch at 30k intervals lol

Yeah, I'm pretty fussy with my FC. I do an oil/filter change every 5000k, a coolant change every 10000k. I try to give my filter a clean and oil roughly every 3 months. I just removed my omp so I'm now premixing every time I fill up. But yeah if I'm going to thrash my car i normallly check the fluid levels before and after when it has cooled down a little. I also change my brake fluid every 2 years.

i'm a maitenance freak. this applies to both my SA and FB's and my FC's i change the engine oil in my 7's before 3000 miles. that usually pans out to once a year at the beginning of the summer. i change the trans and diff oil every three years or 10,000 miles. i completely bleed the brakes and clutch hydraulics once every two years. i change the coolant once every two years and flush at that time. i clean my air filter (k&n) every year. i replace the belts and hoses as needed, but inspect weekly, i inspect the plugs monthly and replace them, the cap and rotor every three years, with wire changes as needed. the fuel filter gets changed every two to three years. i inspect the lights regularly along with the suspension components. this happens usually whenever the car is up in the air for any reason. i am inspecting the engine bay and the components and hoses and vacuum lines on a very regular basis. hope this helps. if you have any questions feel free to ask.
