Arrow Tbs Sencer

Iwas having some one crank my enigine , when i was up front. i had one finger pushed all the way in on the afm, then i noticed when i put one finger on the tb pressed on the fly adjustment that controls the sencer, i pushed it counter clockwise just a bit and the dam thing would start, so does that mean my tb sencers messed up or what. thanks

To be sure, clip a (needle type) analog meter (set to the 1K ohms scale) on the variable resistor pins of the TPS.
Then work the plunger & check the sweep for drop outs.
Also check the resistance sweep in the AFM.

TBS??? WTF is TBS- wait I know it is the cable TV station... but why would you disconnect your cable TV to work on the car???

Maybe you mean the TPS (the Throttle Position Sensor)???

If you disconnect the harness, you have to set the meter to Ohms. Since you Have a S5, you'll have 6 pins, I can't remember which pins they are, but I believe they were green and black? IIRC they're two pins on the end, anyway, you can either check it this way with the harness disconnected and the pins on the TPS are what you're checking, car should be OFF at this time.

On-topic note, can the AFM even be checked via sweeping? Last time I checked they weren't very linear (you can identify dead spots, however)

(Edit...You know why...)

Told you!

(And yes, I'm refering to my previous post, not the TPS comment above)

If you haven't checked and adjusted your TPS - do that now, as others have recommended.

Honestly though, it's nice to see someone give in for once! Too many people let their cars sit, non-running for too long because they can't figure it out themselves and refuse to go to the dealership. [flamesuiton]
