Taking Off The Front Bumper

I was wondering how to take off the front bumper on my S4 T2. Is there a write or anything I can follow?

I never did find an actual write up but it is pretty easy. Just have hidden nuts on the front of each fender.

There will be a series of bolts holding it on up top, underneath the hood. Also there is bolts along the bottom. Then you need to remove the inner fender lining, and from there you can reach the bolts ( 3 or 4) that go from the front of the fender into the bumper.

a 10mm ratcheting spanner is awesome for getting the bolts in the corner after you wind up the lights

also turn your wheels to lock and its a bit easier

Cool, thanks and by fender lining, you mean that mud-guard sort of this right behind the wheel where the strut comes down from?

Oh and would this be in the Hanes Repair Manual?

Yeah, it the black plastic in the inner fender.

I am not sure if the haynes manual says or not to be honest. I just started taking things apart on mine and figured it out but I would be pretty sure something about removing it would be in there.

I actually just put my front bumper on today, heres what you do.

Take off any bolts you can see that are holding it onto the frame between the headlights.

Take off the black lip under the bumper.

Remove the plastic inner fender.

Remove 3 nuts from inside that connect to the bumper. I dont know about S4's but theres also a couple of small 9mm(i think, might be 8mm) bolts holding the bumper to the fender underneith.

Its pretty simple, if it doesnt come off, pull and see where its caught and remove the nut/bolt from there.

Size 8mm for the bottom, 10mm on the sides. Its pretty easy. S4, and S5 its all the same.

Its pretty easy, the inside bolts can be a pain, especily if theres rust or you have fender/bumper damage..just try as best you can, shouldnt take more than an hour for your first time to remove everything.

Once you start things will become obviouse. Good luck!

Yeah, not that difficult. Although the nuts on the uppermost inner fender, on my car, was rusted. Freakin' pissed me off trying to remove it so I got creative and just cut the damn top stud/bolts off. Noone can tell if the uppermost bolts are missing...
