taking harnesses out thru firewall and disconnecting wires from fusebox ? Help!!!

i have an rx7 with big time wiring problems... i am having trouble figuring out how i get the harnesses out ... i cant figure out if i have to disconnect the wiring off the fusebox somehow , or if i pull the wires inside to pull the harnesses ??

well doing this i am probably going to have to replace ALL the front harnesses and possibly ALL the rear harnesses as well...

problem was no ignition (no power to cas), other than that everything worked... i know the fuel pump was rigged up somehow not using the stock wiring ... but other than that there were two other wires i saw that were fried and rigged up... 2 red wires with blue dots ... i have no clue what those are for ? main power ?

there are a few other wires that look screwed up too, wires that have one wire into two and one wire will be just there hanging ...

other wires that are just by themself hanging, lots of stuff been messed with...

how do i test my wires out to see if theyre working properly on ohm meter ? what setting on the ohmeter would i use to test ? i know whati use to test my speakers ohms, but that is alot different than testing voltage/amps

************(no power to cas)***********************

Do me a favor, please. Stop using that phrase. The cas does not get power. It makes power and sends the pwr to the ECU. If that phrase keeps getting used, we're going to have a batch of threads saying their car does not start because the cas isn't getting power. Thank you.

well somewhere along the line something isnt getting power, because my coils arent getting any power or spark

there is really no fix to this problem unless you trace it down to the source , if possible i may just replace all the wires that were burnt with new ones but i dont know how far the damage goes ... it looks like it gets to about where the firewall is..

The coils get power from the MAIN RELAY when the key is turned to ON.

The small white, two socket, connetor at the Lead coil assy should have 12v on it when the key is put to ON.

If it does not, then go to the MAIN RELAY and see if there is 12v on the BLACK/GREEN wire coming from the engine bay fuse box. If it does, then see if the MAIN RELAY is being pulled in when the key is to On.

Here is a link to a schematic that shows the path of power from the engine fuse box. Follow teh BG wire from the fuse box....to the MAIN RELAY............to the coil assy shown at the bottom right of the picture. The BG wire changes to a BY wire after leaving the MAIN RELAY. ......https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...&stc=1&thumb=1

The MAIN RELAY won't pull in unless the ENGINE FUSE in the crew compartmant is intact. Here's a better jpg than the one above.

The relay *pulls in* when you turn the key to ON.

Pull in means the contact in the relay, b/t the BG (black wire with a green stripe) and the BY (black wire with a yellow stripe), make contact with each other and now provide a path for the 12v from the fuse in the engine fuse box to the Lead coil assy's small, two wire connector.

Turn the key to OFF and the relay relaxes and there is now no path b/t the BG wire and the BY wire.

The relay will not get power from the ignition switch to *pull in* the relay unless the ENGINE FUSE is in place. The ENGINE FUSE is near your left ankle in the crew compartment. I THINK it's a fuse on the third row from the bottom, second or third fuse from your left as you look into the box.

Pictures of the two fuse boxes are shown about three quarters of the way down this link .... https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=181219
