Where to jack car to lower rear subframe (not in archived thread)

As stated, where should you put the jackstands if you want to drop the rear subframe? The frame rails towards the back? They don't really look like they would hold. Of course they dont look like they would hold in the frint, either...

the way i did it was put the stands on the rails (like in the archive) and support the subframe with the jack. loosen all the bolts, and then slowly drop it. ive done this about 4 times on different cars. sometimes i was alone other times i had help. its really not that hard.

this is assuming your on a flat surface with a proper jack. not one of those small jacks.

Get some 2x4s about 18" long and place those between the jackstand and the frame rail. It will help distribute the weight along the rail and make it less likely to cave in.
