tail lights dont work

just recently my tail lights went out along with my dash it wont light up any more when i turn the lights on. I was wondering if it is a fuse or a loose wire.

Also I just bought 89-91 tail lights but i dont have the license plate holder, would i be able to modify mine to work???

Tail lights and interior lights are all on the same circut. Check the fuse, but you probably have a short. Did you do any wiring lately? Radio maybe?
I can't be sure but I think it's a red/black wire.

4. none of the above

Check your headlight switch. New ones are pretty easy to come by if you look on www.thepartstrader.com. You can take off the bezel around the gauge cluster and unplug four (I believe) harnesses. The headlight switch is easy to snap out, with only two screws (again, I believe) and then snap a new one in and put the **** on. If you can't find one, PM me and I'll let you know who to contact to get one.

It's NOT the CPU. Replace the headlight switch.

Your license plate holder will fit fine if you grind it to fit. It will be obvious once you get everything together.

The headlights work just fine, but the lights for the gauges dont come on and i got pulled over the other day because my taillights didnt work, the brake lights and the reverse lights work just not the night lights.

So how does the whole process of puting in the 89-91 lights go?? How do I do this conversion???
Thanks for your help guys.

I agree with the above, check the headlight switch first. the switch or harness can be bad only on the parking lights and not the headlights.

mine did EXACTLY what you're saying when my headlight switch went. Check the harness coming from your car and see if there's any brown, burnt looking spots. If there are, you'll need to replace the harness too, but if it looks ok, a headlight switch WILL fix your problem
(and if it doesn't, I'll come back and edit this post so I don't look like an ***. )
