possibly.. there's 2 filaments in the bulb, but the chance of every bulb in the back having a busted filament.. slim.

Wouldn't that be the first thing to check?

"My car stopped running."
"Is there gas in it?"
"Who knows, I'm gonna tear the engine down to see if it's blown."

I think he means the brake lights lighting up when you turn on the head lights... and that it started going out and now it doesnt work at all...

well,if a bulb Did blow, the filament could have Touched the other one.Start pulling bulbs.and also Check to see that the correct bulbs are where they should be.Another thing to check would be the Condition of the sockets themselves as corrosion does occur.Clean with a NON metal type little scrub brush.

My tail lights don't work, but my head lights do
The light switch connections may have burnt out. Check the back of the light switch. If they are burnt, you will need to replace the light switch and light switch harness.
