What about your front marker lights? Are they out too? Are you also saying your interior cluster and stuff aren't lighting up? Then I'd say the switch is the most likely cause. Check your fuses anyway also, just to be sure. Anything else not working? If the fronts are working, maybe a ground at the back is bad.

ahh sounds like the infamous headlight switch problem! ive had this happen to a few FC's ive owned. You will have to have the headlight switch or harness replaced. I think ICEMARK had a site that sells resoldered headlight switches. For a temp fix though you can run a power wire to your taillights, you will notice that this will make your interior lights work again. I did this before just so i would be able to drive, i wouldnt recomend it for a long period of time though.

Slow down funk...
Your sentence above is screwing me up (lack of puncutation).
Your cluster lights up? Interior illumination for switches and gauges?
Your markers, which don't light up? Front, Rear, or both?
If the problem is front and rear and interior, most likely the switch. If just rear, could be a ground - look for black wires near the taillight ending at body bolts.

Bad headlight switch.
The dash lights, brake lights, headlights and parking lights are all on different circuits and should not be confused together.

Mine did this before, and it WASNT a bad switch.
A fuse beside the clutch was the problem...
it was on the top row in the middle I believe.
*double* Check there before you go buying things you dont need.

Tail lights, meter lights, glove box lights, storage box lights, rear side marker lights, front side marker lights, license lights and a host of other misc lights are powered from the ILLUMINATION FUSE and on your series four car. That fuse is on the fourth row from the bottom, far right fuse. Replace same.
Still does not work??? Tough. Remove the light switch elec plug. Jumper the White/Green wire to the Red/Black wire. The tail lights and marker lights will light up. Jumper the White/Green to the Red/Green wire. Now the meter lights should light up.
They work when jumpering? Maybe a bad light switch.
Not working when jumpering??? Might be the short light switch harness. Go to the OTHER end of that short harness and unplug it. It will be a seventeen pin/socket plug. Now do that jumper job on that seventeen plug/socket harness. Same wire colors as above. The lights should all light up. IF they did not light up when you jumpered at the light switch, but now light up when you jumper at the seventeen pin plug, then the short light harness is corrupt.
Personally I'd put in a NEW fifteen amp fuse in the ILLUMINATION fuse spot noted above, and see what happens. Still bad? Then put a meter on the White/Green wire in the light switch plug and see if you have 12vdc or not. THEN do what I described above.
No. On second thought, the first thing I'd have done is download the wiring schematics from this site and looked at the lighting section and found out which lights get powered by what and why and just follow my common sense notions. Yes. Download is the answer. Download WIRING.
Not a series four? Download the series five wiring and see if the wires mentioned on my series four example above are still right or not.

Nope, as covered above, the same fuse that powers the dash lights also powers the parking lights... so if you blow the fuse for one, the other does not work... Clearly the thread originator's problem is that one works and the other doesn't it wouldn't be a fuse as you claim.
