Talking T51R on my 87 TII?

I have a 87 TII with a race exhaust port, street intake port motor, and 3mm apex seals. What are your thoughts on a T51R setup? (I blew oil seals my 60-1)

You're going to blow it all up again with the stock ECU.

What does "1000cc injectors" mean?
Just the secondaries? I doubt you got "close to 500hp".
Or are we talking about 4 x 1000cc?

I agree, I'd say he's making closer to 350rwhp based on his mod list. Seriously, you have to have a mod list as long as this page to make 450+. I will assume he has 1000cc secondaries only, since there is no standalone computer listed...which would be a requirement for 1000cc primaries.

The manifold alone runs around $600-700, the wastegate is around $500 and the turbo is around $2k... And getting any type of powerband with it on a streetported 13bt is going to be fun...might want to stick with something more realistic.

I dont think spooling it would be a real big deal...I know of several FD's that have run the t51, and a ported 13bREW is really the same thing as a ported 13bt provided that the ports are done equally. The intake manifold on the REW does flow a bit better but that's about it.

Maybe he is estimating flywheel horsepower based on 30% drivline loss?
Its total BS. but thats what my friends with camaro's claim.

Well...There are cheaper options with the same end result, T51r might be overkill...if dude is estimating flywheel HP, then I am well over 600 "flywheel" HP... where is my BS flag.

I have 4x1000cc injectors and I am in the proccess of getting a Haltech e11v2 setup. The guy I got the 60 - 1 from said on my setup with proper fuel it would run 500 at the wheels, but I know it is not putting that down on stock ecu and fuel. My goal is around 650hp at the wheels hopefully the Haltech, 1600cc secondaries, T51R, and fuel upgrades and it will get there.

No, the motor is NOT essentially the same. The intake ports are in different locations than the 13BT. You can bolt on an S5 T2 LIM, and port match an FD UIM to it, using it's TB, and all. You could also port the runners of both to the max, to increase airflow a bit more.

I don't think 650rwhp is realistic on a T51R...I assume Lupe would have achieved that or higher if it was possible..?

Who is this "guy"?

You don't have enough fuel injector capacity, unless you jack up the fuel rail pressure.
Even then, we're talking about a $500+ fuel pump here...

1)no need for an E11 unless you have a 3rd rotor, E8 will do
2) 1000cc primaries is WAY overkill
3) i refuse to believe the car even runs with 4x1000cc on stock ECU, you cant just double the amount of fuel.
4) you will not make 500rwhp with a 60-1
5) your engine will not hold 650rwhp

im not sure where you get the idea that 650rwhp is as easy as a giant turbo, **** ton of boost, and a standalone, but its not. do some research on what other people have made before you start making crazy unattainable goals for yourself.

So will a stock re-man.....but not for long.

And 35psi means NOTHING.....its all about airflow.

Question though, why? 650whp is an EASILY sub-10 second car, you won't really be able to street drive the thing.......is it for drag racing?

it has 3mm apex seals and a port job on an otherwise bone stock engine, so you think it can handle 35psi? no. 650rwhp isnt cheap, and even if you can get it, you'll be running on race gas to make 650rwhp on a car that is barely streetable. not to mention you'll probably need serious drivetrain upgrades to handle that much power.

some people do, but hey, it's his car.
You know, if that "500 hp" isn't doing it for him, let him make "650".

I think it can be done, I tried turning the boost up past 30 psi but my boost controller maxed out at 27 psi.
