T2 hood on NA solution?

I pretty much knew before I had it that this would happen... I was wondering if anyone has come up with a solution for keeping water out of the engine compartment when using a T2 hood on an NA body. I noticed that after driving in the rain the other day that the top of the dynamic chamber was wet. Has anyone tried using mesh or something behind the scoop? Or bolting a piece of sheet metal maybe.

I just don't care. Hasn't caused me any problems, or even contributed much to engine bay grime (I keep it quite clean underhood).

Very little water makes its way in there. I had a TII hood and an NA motor for years with no complaints.

It won't do any harm. Think of it as "water injection" or "cooled intake charge".

I just don't want my throttle cams etc to rust up. Maybe I should douse them in lube.

Put a intake cap in there? Or cover it up from the bottom side. The intake section is not doing a whole lot for you anyway.

Or just deal, its not going to kill your car as hood scoops are used on many cars without problems.

The biggest benefit of the hood is the ability to vent heat up and out the duct instead of trapping it under the hood. I'd just leave it alone.

I wouldn't block it off, the water shouldn't be that that much really.

You can always switch to a vert hood. They are lightweight like the TII hoods just without the scoop.

I'd get away from the scoop anyway, it actually increases the pressure inside the engine bay, reducing the effectiveness of your radiator.

Ok so I'm not getting any solutions to this... Just a bunch of change your hood comments?

I do appreciate the folks saying they haven't had any serious problems though.

Most cars such as Mustangs with factory scoops are just fake. They have a plastic block off to avoid water damage. My question was to see if anyone with an NA/turbo hood car or turbo that has decided to use a front or side mount inter cooler has come up with an easy modification for this. Or if a company actually sells a product that just bolts up.

If you're really bent on blocking it off, a small piece of sheet metal with some holes drilled in it would bolt right up. Custom is the only answer.

Most people just run them. Seriously, its no big deal. Even on stock turbo cars crap goes through the intercooler and gets around.

If you want to keep it clean, then pop the hood once a month and clean.

Looks like you could unbolt the shroud under the hood scoop, lay a piece of aluminum, lexan, or any other sturdy flat material on the back side, and bolt the shroud back on. If you wanna get fancy you could even weather-strip the top of the flat material to help flush up against the hood.
I'd be worried about standing water in there though.

no, the scoops are just for looks and dont function at all so they dont need to even work. the scoop gets rain all over the engine anyways on a turbo car, so what would it matter on a non turbo car?
