it could also be a vacume leaq... however you have some funky Mods under the hood that all contribute to boost! right? so i would check the mods and then if they cheq out to be good then take off the manifold and the rats nest as you called it! i call it the boost brain.. lol but that is what i would do!

I actually cannot back you up on that.

Air flow is Air flow.

If the gate is ported too much, too much air is escaping through it, and not going into the engine. If it is not ported enough, not enough air is going through it, and you are getting high boost levels, and probably getting compressor damage.

It shouldn't matter what speed it is spinning or what size it is.

But maybe I just don't understand what you are saying...

I still dont understand what jreynish is saying. It seems like if it wasnt ported enough that it would build more boost and if it was too ported then it would leak boost.

I have a 89 T2 and I just did what you thinking about.
If I were you I would remove the air pump and get a ACV block off plate. Now all you need to do is plug the lines that went to it. The boost sensor line needs to be connected into the plastic pipe that come's out of your turbo and goes into your intercooler. I drilled a hole and glued a small vaccume hose connection in. Porting the wastgate on a s5 in my opinion is overkill. I have an Apexi ACV-R and it controlls boost at 12 psi with no creep. To get your boost to come on faster you need to increase the the duty cycle, 1.0 sounds good with a ported wastegate. There is a air dump hose that goes from the ACV up by the passenger headlight that can be removed also

Well I have the block off plate. And the pulley for the alt. I want to run a full bar of boost. As listed before I am only hitting 8 psi in 2nd!!
My car should run 12's with my mods and right now I cant get under 14.5! So something is wrong!!!

Also isnt setting the duty cycle at 1 VERY bad?
I could be way off base but doesnt that mean it doesnt ever open?
Please help me out
