I agree and disagree. 500+ HP go for the Getrag or the T56 - I agree with that. I expect to be ~400RWHP when all is done & I know I'll benefit from a 6spd. I won't have your torque though so the FE box will suit me just fine.

 

I like my 6 speed/4.10 gear combination just fine. First gear isn't necessary unless you're at a complete stop (still isn't really) and 2-4 shifts are pretty common for me if I'm feeling spirited (and not racing), so it's really not particularly more shifting than a 5 speed if you're around town, and ~30 mpg out of a 425 RWHP engine is nice too.
