Synthetic Drivetrain Fluid

I was reading my recent issue of Hotrod and it talked about using synthetic drivetrain fluid to reduce hp lost by the drivetrain. Has anybody done this to their FC or any other car and is it worth it? I have never heard of such a "mod" but then again I havent been into the car game for too long.

I use Redline MT90 for the tranny and Redline 75-90 (diff specific) for the differential

The HP loss to conventional gear oils is pretty small (maybe 1 percent) compaired to synthetics, but the real advantage to use Redline MT90 is the manual transmission is the smoother shifting and increased syncro life.

I only use Redline MT 90 in my manual tranny cars.

redline in the tranny and diff...silky smooth!! a nice aluminum flywheel and good clutch and you can really BANG 2nd and 3rd w/o chirps or slips..the tach just rockets forward and SLAMS into the next gear fast!!

I'm using Redline's Shock Proof. Newest edition to the Redline family. It's a green/blue type of fluid. My mechanic claims It to be more superior to MT-90...not to say the latter Isn't great but not up to par. I like It.

Id strongly recommend against royal purple. From what Ive heard it contains an additive that eats brass (synchros), and is not very helpful at all. This is all what Ive heard, I have no 1st hand experience , but I still would use something that is proven to be good.
