There are none.
When a motor gets hurt, it's instantaneous.

not necessarily, bearings failing will usually cause some clanging or rattling noises..

but bearings failing is a rare death for a rotary unless you happen to get metal in the oil.

Champagne bubbles in the coolant filler neck at cold start up is a sign of water seals failing.

That's because leaner air-fuel mixtures give more power.

They also cause detonation.

Hot start problems....if your injectors are not leaking it is a sign of low compression.

Symptoms

You can expect the oil to become abnormally dirty just before the side seals blow. I know!!!! I can atest to the fact that it doen't take long for the engine to go after the first symptoms.

This is depressing. If anything, I'd like a little bit of reliability but then again, what can you expect from a 15+ year old car.

My car has been bucking unexpectedly at light loads. It would happen once then nothing for a while. Just recently, it bucked three times consceutively. The car is now parked until I either rebuild it or replace it this winter.

On top of the bucking, hunting idle and fuel leaks abound. This car will need a lot of work. Oh, well.
