When I hit boost my exhaust REAKS, I am also not building boost correctly and cannot rev very fast in neutral from idle. I am figuring I have clogged cats but would the stink also be a symptom?

its very possible, say you had a weak exhaust gasket, it could of blown from the big exhaust pressures building up from the clogged cat. The exhaust therefore leaks under the the car and rises into the cabin. Pull the cats off and check for yourself.

Does it reek like rotten eggs or like unburnt fuel??????? Rotten eggs or similar smell. probably the cats. Hydrocarbon smell could be cause the car is rich. But you really shouldn't be smelling it in the car (people BEHIND you should be smelling it) Check for leaks

Clogged cats manifest themselves under load, not neutral. If you're having trouble in neutral, if they're clogged, you will have no power whatsoever under loads (in gear). If you're hitting a "wall" in 4th or 5th, getting horrible gas mileage, and your cat(s) glow, then start looking at clogged cats...

Now if I opt to just remove the cats and fit a test pipe, am I still liable to hit fuel cut? The intake is stock because I am trying to work backwards, reliability before power. So with a stock cat-back stock airbox I wouldn't get enough air-flow for the test pipe to do harm am I correct?
