SX FPR and Pulsation Damper

Hi,
I've already done a search on the pulsation damper, and know about the fire risk it poses.

My question is: if i install a SX FPR, given that it claims it acts as a pulsation damper also(as claimed in its brochure), can I remove the pulsation damper?

Likewise, if I choose to install a custom fuel system, does that mean I can ditch the pulsation damper?

Definitive answers are appreciated. Thanks to all again.

The PD basically controlls the fuel pressure.

So, yes, with a SX FPR and a custom fuel rail, you don't need the PD...

I don't have mine anymore.

Hmm, so I could just install a SX FPR, and replace the Pulsation Damper with a banjo bolt? (on a S4 Turbo II)

wait I thought the PD controlled the pulses from the opening and closing injectors? we DO have a separate pressure regulator that controls PSI in the fuel rails right?

A damnper and a regulator are two different things

"Light weight diaphragm allows the regulator to act as an accumulator. Not only does this feature help prevent system chatter and noise, but also acts as a pulsation dampener, to help maintain consistent fuel pressure."

Looks like the SX regulator has a built in dampener inside. so the SX FPR is good.

Damn...Might be buying one of those. Anyone have one? Maybe a review of its performance? Write up on install?

It's full of crap...
We've been pulling the stock PD's off the FC's for years with no effect to performance.

Oh boy. I hope that was a mis print. This might really confuse people.

We have both an FPR and a PD. The debate over the removal of the PD never ends. It is my belief that if the PD is removed and a good aftermarket FPR is installed (SX, Paxton, etc.) there are no ill effects. I have seen more than a couple cars run such a setup for a long period of time with no ill effects. If your worried about a PD then by all means replace it with a new one.
