switching engines

I want to transfer a '92 twinturbo engine into an rx7 turboII '88 car. I've read that the third generation cars are rear wheel driven, while mine is frontwheel driven.
Can I make this work. If yes how do I do this?

Greetings Ayolin

As far as I know 2nd gen. Rx-7 are rear wheel drive, you might want to double check your car.

Wow, you want to perform an engine swap and you don't even know the drive configuration of your own car? I think we have a new candidate for post of the week.

FC's Font drive?? huh never heard of it. look under your 88, that will fix your fears. go to the second gen fourm that will help, search for info. many high hp cars are running the 3rd gen motor beacuse it is much more relaible at high boost.

Lots of work unless you happen to have a stand alone management system and engine wiring harness to go with it. Physically the engines will swap, with nominal effort, it is the front harness of theFD that carries the info from the MAP and to the igniter, as well as other info needed for the 13 brew. Electrically this will be a brain twister, mechanically a relative breeze.
