It is called the Air Flow Meter I believe. You must keep that unless you have a stand alone EMS. What you need to do if you have a S4 car which i believe you do you need to either buy or fabricate an adapter. They are sold at the "store" and on ebay and many other places. they usually go for about 20 bux onn vendor dite. then you just attatch the cone filter to that.

That is your Air Flow Meter (AFM) - YOU NEED THAT. If you have an s4 (which it sounds like), you will need an adaptor before you can put on your cone. Look on eBay for rx-7 intake and you will see what I mean, most will come with an adaptor. It turn the square are into a round hole you can put your cone on.

Edit.. sorry, you posted while I was writing this

You'll have to make a little bracket for the AFM to hang from, too. I just used a strip of aluminum from Home Depot, drilled a couple of holes for the AFM to bolt onto, then used one of the brackets for the air box to bolt it on. Lots of people make a box to go around the cone filter to keep the air cool.
If you're gonna keep your air pump you should probably get a little lawn-mower air filter (Canadian tire) that'll fit in the hose for that.

try to keep that AFM as horizontal as possible, if its slanted too much it MAY affect the % airflow the ecu is seeing.
