okay, so if i put an S5 turbo 2 sway bar in the front of my s4, and use the S4 lower control arms and S5 sway bar en links, is it going to mess anything up? also, since all rear sway bars are the same (i think), can i put S5 sway bar end links on my s4 car in the back?

 

The control arms need to be swapped to S5 as well so that the end links match up correctly if you are using S5 stabilizer bars (sway bars are for motor homes- our cars use Stabilizer bars).

Any reason you are doing this??? Do you have a base model or something. You would be radically better off just using S4 parts, as the S4 end links are not plastic and can be replaced with aftermarket tunable links.

 

well, i have the S5 T2 'stabalizer' bar and yes, its going on my base model so i wanted the thicker one, but the sway bar end links for the S4 have mega shot bushings and i figured i could just use the S5 ones with good ball joints.

 

You'd be better off finding a S4 heavy duty stabilizer bar, as it would be bolt in, without changing control arms or even end links.

The S4 heavy duty bar was found on the 86-87 Sport, 88 GTU, 88 convertible, 87-88 Turbo, 86-88 GXL.

 

curious... i have an s5....... so, i couldnt just buy the RB end links and install them on my car? i would have to install s4 lower control arms? is that right, or did i mis understand it?

 

isn't the S4 vert sway bar thicker than the T2 bars? i figured that would be an easier upgrade.

If this is just a street car, I suggest getting a matched set, front and rear.

 

End link mounts are different between S4 and S5 models, hench the requirement to swap control arms- different mounts.

You didn't wonder why the RB end links only list 86-88 for the years they fit???

 

Front bars on the 88 vert are 24mm just like the S4 Turbo, GXL, Sport, 88 GTU.

 

lol... i just thought they were on crack.......looks like it was me....... oh well, nothing a trip to pick-a-part wont solve.... i was planning on doing the urathane bushings soon, so the control arms have to come out anywyas..... glad i found this out...thanx icemark
