swappin' the rear end-

Questions for you guys out there,
I am swapping out the rear end in my 88 GXL
for a rear end from a 88 GTU, (Yes I know they
are the same) anyways, should I just swap out
the LSD/axle or I heard you can also disconnect the
the rear portion of the frame and do it that way.
let me know if this makes sense the way its worded
that is. Lates Matt22

well the only place the diff is mounted to the sub frame(i assume that what you meant by rear frame) the easist way is to get 2 floor jacks and pull the rear diff mounts drop the diff..but at the same time put a jack under the dip in the sub frame and pull thouse mounts to. drop the whole thing as far as you can(watch the brake lines) adn then you can get to the front diff mount. and swap the diff out and reverse to install. i have done this 4 times so far it is by far the easist.let me know if this works.

It's easiest to just drop the whole subframe and swap it.
