suspension tuning

Being a high school student and not having a full time job, i have a limited amount of money. so i decided to put whatever money i get into general maintenence and suspension. i have about $2,000 to spend. i just ordered a rear strut bar and will buy a front one next. which kind of coilovers do you guys recommend? i was looking at the tein HE's. but it would be great to have any suggestions. also, who makes good sway bars and lower tie bars? ive been looking around and havent found anything really good. thanks for the suggesstions.

Well, I would have put the strut bars at the bottom of my list but that's just me.
I'd spend good money on struts and springs unless you *need* coil-overs.
There are VOLUMES of threads here about which coil-overs/struts/springs/anti-sway bars are best...search the forum and read all that stuff. If you want recomendations about suspension, you'd better give the group an indication of what you want to DO with the car as set-ups for different applications are...uh...different.
my suggestion?
Buy all new bushings.

Before you start forking out cash left and right....

Is this car a daily driver? Is the car only street driven? Some track time or none at all? Do you intend on attending some track events soon? Please elaborate...

I like the quality of the JICs a little more then the Tein units. Also, I think the Apex N1 is an excellent unit.

Nice to see some people actually do things the right way, that is suspension first... I wish I had done that.. but I suck.

Anyway, coilovers aren't cheap. If you do get coilovers, you'd should be active in competition to make it worthwhile. You would also need to corner balance the car to fully take advantage of it.

I'm not sure which springs and struts would suit you best but one of the better struts/shocks you can get for a good price are the KYB AGXs.

I would do some research and get the shocks and springs changed first, then move on to bushings then to sway bars and finally strut tower bars.

Also keep in mind... you will also need a good set of tyres to take advantage of your suspension.
