suspension installed, NVH, bigtime
Had an emergency with my 88 N/A vert. One of the struts blew the other day and had to get it fixed. (Its my daily driver and needed to get to work) So I take my car a local suspension shop, (2 blocks away) and have them replace my front struts. I figure what the hell, have them replace everything while I'm at it. My ride is now worse than the 13 year old suspension that was previously installed. Lots of noise, vibration, harshness...I'm so pissed off. I should have found some other means to get to work.
They installed "Gabriels" for the front and the rear. Do Gabriels just suck? They also did not re-align my car properly and it veers to the left. Dumb-***'s. I hate Les Schwab. So I like paid money for shitty shocks and struts and a mis-aligned car. I feel like I was ripped off. Live and ya learn.

Haven't we ALL heard this
Garbiel? That the same thing as GABs? I thought they were supposed to be good. If you do strut work that will wack the allignment. If they don't have the equipment for that it may be extra. If it aint' right (safe) you need to take it back.

Gabriel shocks are extreme low end crap from places such as (but not limited to) Pep Boys, JC Whitney, or Sears. They've been around forever. They are NOT spoken of in performance circles obviously. These shocks are like the tires the average Joe Schmuckatelli gets when he goes into a tire shop. He will say he needs new tires and that's about it. He then gets the 100,000 mile all weather radials. Know what I mean?
My advice is to get rid of those things if you have the means to. A set of Tokicos, Kayabas, or even GABs are pretty affordable in the long run. You don't need the best stuff, but some damn good stuff is pretty affordable. You already know the downside of the cheap stuff.
