Supercharger with emissions?

Has anyone added a supercharger and kept the car passing emissions tests?

I am working on one now, and was just wondering if there were any suggestions.

I did remove the air pump and plan on adding an electric one off of a LS1 engine, I am getting rid of the sub zero tank and will place it there.

The supercharger I am using is the M90, and man is it tight at the top will the emissions still attached.

Thanks for the input.

I noticed Atkin's setup said it wasn't emissions legal.

But.... if you retain the BAC, Entire throttle body, ACV, & Air pump I don't see why it wouldn't pass.

Now if you use an aftermarket ECU, that's where I start getting confused. I assume it will read your O2 sensor.

You can pass with a standalone, you'd have better luck actually since you can tune it as you see fit. However, how do you plan on routing the m90? And what power do you expect to see?

I am not sure how much.

I am not sure how much power I will see, but by my calculation I should see a max of 7 psi with the pulley I have on it.

Also, I have gone the route of using an electric smog pump from an LS1 engine. I have removed the air control to it and will turn on the pump direct to cat for the test only. I plan on putting the electric pump where the sub zero tank is.

I am also having some intake issues, the ac pipes r in the way, but I think we will figure that out.

The M90 will be mounted sideways with the output going straight up and over.

I will post pics when I get it hooked up.

Thanks for the input

You could just bleed off some blower air to the split air pipe.
It's not practical with a turbo, but with your belt driven blower it would idle nice & clean.

I assume you'll have an SAFC or standalone so tuning will not be a problem.

I hope you're putting the m90 after the throttle plates, it's such a waste to mount it before them.

I have installed a SAFC II

I have installed a SAFC II, and I am mounting the M90 forward in the bay, I have welded a supercharger pulley to the outermost pulley.

That is a great idea about bleading off the air from the supercharger. I will have to try that after I get the thing working.

I will take a pic of where I plan on mounting it with it just sitting there and post it., It may be tonight or tommorow before I get the pic. It is at a buddys house, as the people in my subdivision do not like car projects sitting in the yard.

I notice how everyone is saying that the rotary is loud. Mine does not seem to be this way. When I purchased it, it did not have one of the mufflers attached, and it was not loud at all. I did notice that once you are passed 4000 rpms it seems to drop off in power.

I thought it was probably the precats clogged up.

Also, the pacesetter headers for this car, do they run all the way to the main cat and do away with the precats?

Just wanted to see what you guys think.

This is a new experiance for me.
