super high oil pressure

super high oil pressure

Guys I just got an 88 vert but the oil pressure is super high like 110 psi. What should I do?

someone probably "upgraded" the pressure regulators during a rebuild.

i'm not sure why some shops feel in rotary applications that more oil pressure is needed... just causes more problems. that pressure won't really hurt anything but if you ever turbo it you will have to run a smaller restrictor in the oil feed line.

i dont think the engine has been taken apart, from the looks of it everything in it is original from factory.

Might be a stuck sender unit. However the first advice is good, hook up a remote pressure gauge and see what it says.
