Sunroof wont even pop open.

I have a 86' rx7 gxl na. the sunroof does not open. i hear the motor and im pretty sure it works. the manual opener does not work also. the sunroof might be off the tracks or something but i can not really investigate because it wont even pop open at all. ive tried pushing up, that does not work. The previous owner said he got it to work by lubbing up the tracks, but how can i try to lube up the tracks if i cant get to the tracks? any help?

you have to take the headliner panel off and take the entire assembly off. take the motor off and make sure the gear is in between the 2 drive springs. The engineering behind this is awful. the small springs that drive the rails get rusted stuck so if the gear is fine and the motor works that means the rails are stuck. So u have to try to spray brake cleaner on them or un stick them but its really hard when that top panel is on there and the sunroof isnt open. If u can get the inside panel off and unbolt the metal panel off then u may have a chance to unstick them better
