Sunroof emergency handle

So my sunroof is closed. But when I press the button to go back or forth, the motor just runs and the sunroof does not budge.

Can I use the emergency handle to open it? And if so, I cannot seem to find it.

Or is there something else I should be doing?

Any help would be appreciated

No good.

I even had someone else push with me.

It doesnt seem like something is catching. The motor spinned all the way back until it stopped. But the roof didnt move an inch

I pushed the sunroof up so the back of the sunroof isn't flush with the roof anymore, but that's due to me pushing it not because the motor did it.

Any other suggestions?

Weird, sounds like u are missing a joint or broken a connection in the "drivetrain" between the engine and the panel, you shouldnt need a friend too help you push too get it open, you should be able too do it with your pinky

Is there any way I can manual pull it open, so that I can see the tracks and possibly what is going on?

hahaha....sorry...i skimmed thru. sounds like the plastic clip that connects to the track is broken. that happened to mine and the only way to find out is to take it out.

holy Crap..Nobody Knows this?//Pop that little circular Cap off of the Interior Roof Panel(Headliner),Behind the Sunroof, where it HUMPS on the Headliner..That will reveal an Allen key type "receptacle"(didn't know wtf to call it!.)Reach into your Socket set and find the size that corresponds with that Thingie..put a ratchet and the allen socket on it(Or allen Key) and crank...it will move the sunroof Open or closed, depending on which direction you crank.

I did that at the beginning, and all it did was keep popping. So i stopped.

hold the open button, if you can hear the motor running, then the motor is not the problem. If you do not lubricate all of the connections, then the motor will not have enough power to overcome all of the friction. As mentioned earlier in this post; do not push on the front of the sun roof...the first section to open on the sunroof is the back...so push up on the back part of the sunroof until it pops upward, once open, you may need to help the motor more by pushing the sunroof along on its track while the motor works, just to give it some help...after all these years the electronics sucks in these cars, so give it some help....

i wish i could help you as i'm going through the sae problem with BOTH of my TII's. the sunroof motor operates seamlessly but will not engage the sunroof drive cable. when i attempt to open the roof with an allen wrench, i am unable to budge the bolt more than 1/8 of a turn before it stops. i know that if i want the sucker fixed i'm going to have to drop the headliner and have a look.

just wondering if you are turning the ratchet/allen key in the right direction??...The sunroof isn't all that hard to get off though,Just a Pain in the ***.you have to remove the headliner, which means a lot of screws and ****..and trying not to Bust up trim. The Front and back window trims are ok to Pop off once you get the screw out(they are held in by compression springs).the A pillars come up each side.,and you have to pop those enough to get at the plastic Phillips headed Screws that hold the Headliner on..Once all them screws and the headliner are out, disconnect the electricals,(when doing this First Disconnect Battery#1 with electrical)..then go at the 10mm bolts that hold the frame on..it will eventually just Fall into the inside of the acr,The WHOLE sunroof..all 50 pounds of it..so be aware!..oh even though it's best to have the roof open abit to get it out/seeing you can't get the roof open, may hamper the removal.but it will come out, just Slap the top of the Sunroof Panel..it should eventually Fall into the Inside of the car..so either have some "safety screws on"(loose bolts on the sunroof, not all of them Taken off) or a buddy there holding it,until it does give up and drop.Good luck,STYX.

The allen wrench just turns the motor. If the cables are fuc*ed, that motor can spin until the cows come home. You'll have to remove the headliner, remove the motor, and see in what shape the cables are. If not too bad, sometimes you can save it by cleaning and lubing the whole mechanism. By freeing up the mechanism, the motor force on the cable goes down nicely. GL.
