Sunroof wont open..

As some of you know I just picked up an '87 T2. I just discovered that the sunroof wont open. When I have the car running, I press the button, I can hear the noise of the motor, but it wont engauge or anything. Has this ever happened to any of you? How do I fix it? How much will it cost me?

its just off the tracks i bet.
look in the owners manual and it shows the crank and how to get your roof open.

mine does this some times when closing but i just give it a little tug and it goes

if you can manage to pop out the lining above ur head and right below the sunroof panel, try it with a flat head screw driver.

once you get that off....there are 4 10mm if i remember corectly.
if you remove them, the sunroof panel will be able to be lifted up and off the car, exposing the tracks.

here would can oil, or realine them.

i figure this is the easiest way to get it moving again.

give it a try,

Mike

I have a spare track for sale if you need it. Still works, has not been tested. No motor, just the track.

$25.00 plus shipping.

whoa...lets not get crazy here. I had the same problem. The motor was winding and the sunroof wouldn't open. Just push up on the far end while holding the s/r button.
