It's probably rusted shut and the cable snapped. You can try to take off the little cover behind the sunroof on the headliner and use an allen wrench to try to turn it and see what happens, or push up on it from the bottom when hitting the button or using that 'manual' spot, but chances are it's just rusted in place/etc.

You have to remove the headliner, front window trim, a-pillars, and a few other peices of plastic, then you'll see how it's all bolted in place.

I couldnt get mine unstuck... so I took the headliner off of the panel and now I just unbolt the stuck side and push up to open it... it looks a bit ghetto, but it gets the job done.

mine was shut closed. i manually opened it with the allen wrench method. i sprayed wd-40 in the rails to clean it. After the stuff sat for an hour i wiped it off. then i place bearing grease on the rails. after a couple of open/close sessions its 1000% better!

I'd say its rusted like SonicRaT said. My sunroof was having problems, it was getting stuck about halfway open from one of the cables getting stuck or soemthing. I took it all out and scrubbed/cleaned it all and regreased it before i put it back together. Now its working great.
