Sunroof Clean and Lube
This is on my1987 RX7 GXL My sunroof gets stuck with the back end open before completely closing back up. A little help does get it closed, but the motor seems very tired. Before I start replacing stuff, I want to clean and lube it, hopefully making it easier. I wonder if I have really old 1987 grease in there? I see the standard procedure is wipe down with a clean rag, and hit it with some white lithium grease. Anything different about an RX7, or tricks that I need to know before I dig in?

new update, clean it like you do, and then Honda has this grease called 'Shin Etsu' and just slobber that on everything, it works.
Honda 08978-8013 is the part number, its magic stuff

Cleaning it is obviously the best solution, but just a bit of advice for those who havent cleaned it, as a temporary solution; when I bought my FC, the previous owner showed me that the sunroof closed up until the very end where the back end stayed open. He suggested I get somebody to help me from the top side to push it shut while I pressed the button. This seemed really forced and sucks. My temporary solution that worked a lot better was to push UP on the inside front end of the sunroof while pressing the button. This seems to relieve stress from the motor and it closed right up. A lot better than having somebody force it against the motor from the top. Hope this helps some people with the issue before you get it all cleaned out.
