Sun roof is fubar
So eres the deal.
Like a idoit i took the sun roof off a while back, trying to get it, where it can open and close.
this 7 has been sitting for 2 years before i bought i, and it the motor for the sunroof works fine..
however... it opens at a slant, and is now stuck. it seems that the springs or thelong screws used to move the sun roof open and closed have seized.
im thinking if i get a smll torch ican heat the metal up and get teh roof back closed, then figure how the hell im gonna get it back on the car.
if you have any suggestions, to help please reply
i need to get that and other stuff done to the car before October 16 and im running outta time

GL, I have never seen any write ups on the sunroof. If you get this figured out then it would be a great contribution to the club. I don't think anyone on here with a sunroof doesn't have problems with it. Mine stick sometimes and I have to push it down to close it.

seems the hyrdroic lines are seezed. well in one side. but took the motor out and then pushed down so at least i can get it back on the car, instead of haven a tarp as a sunroof. <-- slacker
go get some lunch, and try again.
but thanks for the reply and if any otherpeople has hints it would be cool. next on the agenda after the sun roof, is putting the fuel pump back together

check to see if the track is bad...or the plastic thingy that hooks to the track is not broken. when i first bought my rex, it would open slightly then get stuck. had to replace the assembly.

my sunroof opens slanted like the right side will lift up and the left side wont really lift up at all and then the right side stops pulling it back because the left side cant do anything and gets stuck... Anyone have an idea of what this may be?

Xbladr... Odds are the left side cable is broken, you can try cleaning the track, but I had the exact same thing. Tharkin, probably the same thing, you need to right a little clearer cause its hard to tell exactly what is wrong, and by the way there were no hydrolics in the sunroof last time I checked.

yeah, my 87 T2's sunroof has got that same problem, right side opens a little, but left side seizes up, and doesn't fully open. i guessed it was a snapped cable, but only problem now is how do i go about getting it fixed/replaced without taking out the whole assembly? write-ups and how-to's anyone?
