Sub-Zero starting system

I thought I'd read that Mazda was to or reccommended to remove the Sub-Zero starting systems in FCs, but while I was tearign down my engine for removal I noticed it wa still in place on MY S5.

Anyone else still have these? I'm guessing I should just pull it out sinee I never had sub-zero starting problems on my S4 without it either.

I've still got mine on my car, but i never see sub-zero temps here in FL.

I should probably rip that thing off.

I'm putting one in my car, but I'm using it for something else. Can someone please post a pic of the connector that plugs into the pump. Thanks

You can leave it in, or pull it out. It doesn't really matter either way. Mine still had it on when I bought it about a year and a half ago.

Positive It is the Sub-Zero system. It has the coolant line feeding to the engine. And it said sub-zero on the resivior tank or something to that extent.Mines an 89 S5, and it still has the speed-sensitve power steering, rather than engine speed like I thought S5s came with. Maybe all 89s in cold areas had it?

Here's the plug that hooks into the pump motor.

This is after I removed the system and coolant tank for it.

maybe, mazda seemed to have no rhyme nor reason for some of the things they did like the cooling system configuration and which cars got the sub zero system or not.
