stutterbox
anyone using one? anyone know if any of the engine management systems have it?
for those of you who don't know what a stutterbox is, it's a device that allows you to floor the gas when drag racing but will only let the rpm's go to a pre-set limit. this helps to keep from breaking traction when launching. i've seen some that are just a separate box mounted on a steering column or something, and some that have the feature added to an engine management system.
i've seen a lotta dsm's use them. and the dsmlink from www.dsmlink.com (engine management system) has it in it's feature's. on the 300ZX forum, some guys use a traction control unit which incorporates it as a feature. but i haven't seen anyone speak of anything like this in this forum.
i wouldn't care for the traction control unit because those are harsh on the clutches and of course shorten the life of it. anyone know if the haltech or something like this would have it in it's features? or heck, just a stutterbox itself would work i suppose. thanks for any info.....
